Charte des Œuvres de Sine Fine

Introduction to the Charter of Sine Fine Works

The purpose of this charter is to provide clear and transparent guidelines on the classification, authentication and rights associated with the various works created by Sine Fine. This charter is aimed at collectors, galleries, institutions and anyone interested in acquiring or distributing the artist’s work. It aims to establish a framework of mutual trust and understanding, while preserving the integrity and value of each work of art.

Certificates of Authenticity

Certificates of authenticity play a crucial role in the validation and traceability of Sine Fine’s original works. Issued once free of charge for each sale, these certificates link the work inseparably to its creator and to the artist’s catalog raisonné. They contain essential information such as the title of the work, dimensions, materials used, edition number and the artist’s signature. These certificates serve not only as a guarantee of authenticity, but also as a legal document that can be used in the event of resale or exhibition. In this way, they help to preserve the value and integrity of each work of art, while offering added security to purchasers. If you do not have a certificate of authenticity for a Sine Fine work, you can request one via this form.

Reproduction rights

It is important to note that the purchase of a photographic or sculptural work from Sine Fine does not confer any right to reproduce the work. Reproduction rights remain the exclusive property of the artist, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Any use of the work for reproduction purposes must be expressly authorized by the artist.

Collaborations with other artists

In the case of co-creations or collaborations with other artists, the rules and conditions set out in this charter may be subject to adjustment. Each collaborative work will be accompanied by detailed specifications concerning rights, responsibilities and authentication conditions for all artists involved.

Gallery exclusivity

Some of Sine Fine’s works may be subject to an exclusivity agreement with a gallery. In this context, the artist’s studio cannot supply them directly. Interested parties are invited to contact the gallery holding the exclusive rights for any acquisition.

Price uniformity

Regarding pricing policy, Sine Fine is committed to maintaining uniform prices, whether a work is sold in the studio or through a gallery. This approach ensures total transparency and supports fairness for all buyers.

    Photography

Photography occupies a central place in [Votre Nom d’Artiste] ‘s work, and is divided into four distinct categories, each with its own specificities and conditions of authentication.

Original Work: This is the centerpiece of every photographic creation. Before 2021, these works were limited to 5 prints and 2 artist’s proofs. However, in order to preserve the exclusivity and value of each work, this limit has been lowered from 2021 to 3 prints and 2 artist’s proofs. Each original work is accompanied by a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity.

Limited Edition: These prints are produced in a smaller size than the original works, and are limited to 30 copies in any format. Although closely related to the original works, they are not accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Derivative: This category includes more accessible reproductions of the work, such as posters or stickers. These products are not limited in number and do not come with a certificate of authenticity.

Special Edition: These prints are usually large and created for specific occasions, such as exhibitions. They are not for sale and are not accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

The change of policy in 2021 reflects a desire to reinforce the exclusivity and rarity of original works. This decision was taken to better meet the expectations of collectors and art lovers, while preserving the intrinsic value of each creation.

    Sculpture

Each sculpture is generally an original work, with a maximum print run of 4 original copies, 4 artist’s proofs and 4 hors commerce. Most sculptures, however, have a lower number of copies, which is specified on the certificate of authenticity.

    • Replicable gestureSingle copies whose creation process is replicable. Each “Replicable Gesture” has its own name and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
    Video

Each video work is an original creation, limited to 3 copies and 1 inalienable copy belonging to the artist. Each original work is accompanied by a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity. The purchaser has the right to distribute the work to a non-commercial audience. For any commercial distribution, royalties must be paid to the artist. The artist’s inalienable copy gives him the right to distribute the video even after it has been sold.

    Installation

Each installation is unique and comes with a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity. This uniqueness makes each installation an exclusive piece in the artist’s portfolio.
